At 100 days to kickoff, the MLS vs LIGA MX competition builds on North America’s summer of soccer, with ticket sales already underway.
With 100 days until kickoff, Leagues Cup has unveiled a refreshed brand identity as it looks to build on heightened interest in soccer following the FIFA World Cup across North America.
Now in its fourth edition, the MLS vs. LIGA MX competition will again feature 36 clubs, with matches played across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. For 2026, the updated brand reflects the tournament’s growth in scale, relevance, and impact, expressed through a more unified system designed to support sustained fan engagement.
A Brand Evolution Built for the Trinational Game
Leagues Cup is a cross-border competition shaped by players, fans, and communities across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The brand evolution reflects that unique connection—creating a shared expression of North American soccer while celebrating the distinct soccer cultures that define the tournament.
“What makes Leagues Cup compelling is the intersection of leagues, cultures, and identities,” said Ava Taylor, Director of Marketing for Leagues Cup. “That dynamic is visible on the pitch, where players such as Brian Gutiérrez and Brandon Vazquez represent the increasingly fluid pathways between MLS and LIGA MX. It’s also reflected in the stands, where fans engage with both leagues across communities and markets. This evolution is about building a brand that reflects how the game is experienced across North America today.”
The updated identity is designed to better reflect this intersectionality, bringing together elements from all three countries into a shared visual system that reinforces the tournament’s cross-border foundation while allowing for localized expression.
Developed in partnership with Monterrey-based agency Copa Entertainment, with strategic support from Orlando-based Content Co., the updated identity introduces a flexible brand system designed to operate consistently across broadcast, digital, and in-stadium environments. Anchored by the Leagues Cup trophy, the system incorporates color, patterns, and typography inspired by the region, allowing clubs and partners to tailor execution locally while maintaining a cohesive look across markets.
“Our goal was to create a system that moves fluidly across cultures while remaining grounded in a singular, consistent identity,” said Pablo Leva, Co-Founder of Copa Entertainment. “Leagues Cup connects audiences across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and beyond. We see this as more than a visual language—it’s a shared space where different identities feel represented, connected, and proud.”
Countdown to Leagues Cup
Leagues Cup will kick off shortly after the FIFA World Cup concludes, serving as the next major international club competition in North America.
The tournament will once again bring together MLS and LIGA MX clubs, highlighting one of the most compelling rivalries in the region while expanding its footprint with the introduction of matches in Mexico.
On the competition side, the top three finishers will qualify for the Concacaf Champions Cup, with the champion earning a direct berth into the Round of 16.
At the 100-day mark, Leagues Cup has already begun ticket sales in the US and Canada, with select clubs now on sale and additional clubs releasing tickets through June. Photo expression of the brand: When featuring players -- like Brian Gutiérrez, a U.S.-born player playing for LIGA MX club Chivas de Guadalajara or Brandon Vasquez, a U.S born player with Mexican heritage playing for Austin FC —imagery will be vibrant, reflecting the fluidity of culture, identity, and fandom that defines Leagues Cup.

The unifying symbol: The Leagues Cup trophy anchors the brand system. Its silhouette functions as a modular graphic container—holding evolving cultural expressions within a consistent form, expressing unity through variation.

New colors and icons: A new secondary palette enables cultural expression—blue and red representing MLS across the US and Canada, and green and pink reflecting the energy of LIGA MX and Mexican identity. These are paired with trinational symbols—a star, maple leaf, and Aztec-inspired mark—drawn from the trophy’s engraved details and rooted in the competition’s cross-border DNA.

Typography designed for motion: The introduction of a condensed, directional type system inspired by movement, ambition, and forward progression mirrors the tournament’s role in pushing the game forward across the region.
