- Carlos Álvarez Debut Delayed: The Spanish forward was expected to join the club had the team reached the Leagues Cup Final, but will instead travel to Mexico City to make his Liga MX debut.
- Rotation in the Starting XI: Expect a different starting lineup as the team gives opportunities to players who haven't seen many minutes lately. Some players could also return home to prepare for the next Liga MX match.
- Borja Ready?: The Colombian forward could see some minutes and make his Leagues Cup debut, adding some attacking punch to this alternative Águilas squad.
- Club León:
- Careful with the Reds: León was put at a disadvantage in the last match when defender Jhohan Romaña was sent off, and head coach Javier Gandolfi knows his team can't afford those types of mistakes against a club like América.
- Find the Net Again: After being shut out against Toluca, La Fiera will look to get back on track offensively. León had scored nine goals across its previous four matches.
- Top Scorer on the Horizon: With one more goal, Daniel Arcila would take sole possession of the top spot in this year's Leagues Cup scoring race. Arcila currently has four goals, tied with Austin FC's Myrto Uzuni.

With both teams having something on the line, fans at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas, should be in for an entertaining Third Place Match.
For Club León, a win would secure a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup, a tournament the club has not participated in since 2023.
For Club América, not only is pride on the line, but there is also prize money at stake and the opportunity to finish the tournament on the podium.
Both offenses have been in strong form throughout the tournament. Despite being shut out in its last match, León still possesses plenty of attacking firepower, led by Díber Cambindo and Leagues Cup co-leading scorer Daniel Arcila.
For Club América, an alternative starting XI could feature young, hungry players eager to show Guillermo Almada what they can do. Expect Las Águilas to pressure León and look to win the ball back quickly while remaining disciplined defensively.
