Leagues Cup 2026 kicks off following the FIFA World Cup across the United States, Mexico, and Canada
Ahead of its August 4 kickoff, the Leagues Cup Organizing Committee today announced final updates regarding participating clubs and match venues for the official Concacaf-sanctioned competition featuring clubs from MLS and LIGA MX, completing the tournament’s lineup of participating teams, match venues, and kick-off schedules for Leagues Cup 2026.
The updates are highlighted by Atlante F.C.’s official inclusion in the competition following the club’s return to LIGA MX beginning with the 2026 Apertura season.
In April, LIGA MX club owners approved the transfer of Mazatlán FC’s franchise rights to Atlante F.C., paving the way for one of Mexico’s most historic and tradition-rich clubs to return to the country’s top division. As a result, Atlante F.C. will replace Mazatlán FC in the Leagues Cup 2026 tournament field and make its first appearance in the competition.
In addition, the Leagues Cup Organizing Committee finalized venue details for two FC Dallas matches as the tournament continues preparations for the 2026 competition. Venue assignments were made in coordination with participating clubs, stadium partners, and tournament operations.
- FC Dallas will host Club Querétaro on Wednesday, August 5 at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time.
- Additionally, FC Dallas will face Chivas de Guadalajara on Saturday, August 8 at PayPal Park in San Jose, California. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. local time.
Taking place following the FIFA World Cup, the fourth edition of Leagues Cup will once again bring together 36 clubs – 18 from MLS and 18 from LIGA MX – in a month-long competition that continues to elevate one of North America’s premier soccer rivalries. Beyond the trophy and regional pride, Leagues Cup carries major international implications, with the top three finishers qualifying for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup and tournament champion advancing directly to the Round of 16.
