Erik Centeno

Atlanta United selected Erik Centeno with the 19th pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. A Generation adidas selection, he was the only freshman to start all 16 games for the University of the Pacific in 2021, recording six goals and five assists. Following the season, the winger garnered First-Team All-West Coast Conference and conference Freshman of the Year honors after leading the team in points and tying for the team lead in goals. A native of Stockton, Calif., Centeno starred at Weston Ranch High School and played for the Sacramento Republic FC Academy.

Centeno was loaned to ATL UTD 2 for the 2023 season. The Stockton, California native played in 26 of 28 games during the club’s first season in MLS NEXT Pro. Centeno made 18 starts and finished with a 1,694 minutes played. He scored his first professional goal on June 4 in a 5-0 win against Miami. He added two assists on the season, while creating 21 chances in 2023. 

Centeno spent the 2022 season on loan with ATL UTD 2 and started 16 of his 30 appearances in the USL Championship, recording three assists.

2023 (Atlanta United 2): Centeno played in 26 of 28 games in MLS NEXT Pro, including making a career high 18 starts. He finished the year with one goal and two assists while starting in various positions on the pitch. His 1,694 total minutes played also set a new career best mark for the second year pro.

2022 (Atlanta United 2): Centeno started 16 of his 30 appearances in the USL Championship and recorded three assists.
