Inter Miami CF clinched their spot in the Leagues Cup 2023 semi-finals on Friday night with a convincing 4-0 win over **Charlotte FC**. Lionel Messi was once again on the scoresheet, with the Argentine putting away his team’s fourth of the night and debuting a new superhero-inspired celebration - this time, as Spiderman.

The goal came on the 86-minute mark, as the Florida outfit managed by Gerardo “Tata” Martino sealed a resounding victory. For the former Barcelona man, it was an eighth goal in the competition, which saw him go clear at the top of the scoring charts.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s celebration made waves on social media and in the DRV PNK Stadium stands, although it wasn’t the first time Messi had celebrated in this fashion. In fact, since his arrival in the United States, the forward has imitated various superheroes in his celebrations.

In the group stages, after celebrating his opening goal against Atlanta United FC with his teammates, Messi stood still and looked towards the stand where his wife Antonella and his sons were watching from. He then stretched his arm out towards them - it was a celebration that drew attention and quickly went viral. It was the forward’s spouse who would then confirm on her Instagram account that the celebration was referencing Thor.

Messi then opened the scoring against **Orlando City SC** in his team’s first match in the knockout rounds, and the forward opted for a special celebration - a “Black Panther” salute by crossing his arms.

The goals keep coming for Messi, and so do the cinematic celebrations. Which famous superhero will the Argentine maestro be emulating next?
