The penultimate day of the 2023 Clausura is already underway with Tigres' victory over Puebla, but there will be plenty of action over the weekend. Among the biggest matches is the Clásico Capitalino between América and Pumas, as well as Cruz Azul's visit to Chivas. Here’s our preview of Matchday 16:

Chivas vs. Cruz Azul: Both teams arrive in a very different form. While the Rojiblancos have had two consecutive victories that have moved them into fourth place and its direct place in the Liguilla, the visitors are coming off a very painful defeat against América and if they don't win, they can get complicated in the playoffs by not playing at home.

America vs. Pumas: The Clásico Capitalino is always full of emotion. The two teams are both on a good run, although their immediate objectives are different. Las Águilas can still keep their lead and have gone five games in a row without losing. But in the case of the visitors, they are looking for a place in the playoffs and the bottom places are very tight with four teams with 17 points, but they have managed two straight wins under Antonio Mohamed.

Pachuca vs. Atlético de San Luis: The current champions are not coming off their best performance after losing away to Atlas, but they still are holding out hope of qualifying directly for the Liguilla, being three points off fourth place. For their part, the visitors are one of those teams that are fighting for the last places in the playoffs and defeat could put them out of those positions.
