Official tournament rosters feature global stars, FIFA World Cup players, MLS and LIGA MX standouts and North America's brightest young talent
The player field for Leagues Cup 2026 is set, with all 36 participating clubs from Major League Soccer and LIGA MX submitting their official tournament rosters ahead of kickoff on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The fourth edition of Leagues Cup brings together one of the deepest player fields in tournament history, featuring global stars, FIFA World Cup players, MLS and LIGA MX standouts, as well as, North America’s brightest young talent for a month of meaningful MLS vs. LIGA MX competition.

Headlined by Lionel Messi (Inter Miami CF), Robert Lewandowski (Chicago Fire FC), Son Heung-min (LAFC), Antoine Griezmann (Orlando City SC), Thomas Müller (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Hugo Lloris (LAFC), Casemiro and Rodrigo De Paul (Inter Miami CF), Tim Ream (Charlotte FC), Miles Robinson (FC Cincinnati), Sebastián Cáceres (Club América), Camilo Vargas (Atlas FC), Keylor Navas (Pumas UNAM), Henry MartÃn (Club América), Roberto Alvarado and Raúl Rangel (Guadalajara), Alexis Vega (Toluca), Salomón Rondón and Oussama Idrissi (Pachuca), OrbelÃn Pineda (Monterrey), and Juan Brunetta (Tigres UANL), the tournament features one of the strongest player fields in Leagues Cup history.
Alongside established stars, Leagues Cup 2026 will also showcase the next generation of North American talent, with rising players including Erik Lira (Cruz Azul), Cavan Sullivan (Philadelphia Union), Diego Luna (Real Salt Lake), Gilberto Mora (Club Tijuana), ElÃas Montiel (Pachuca), Armando González (Guadalajara) and Zavier Gozo (Real Salt Lake) set to compete on one of the region’s biggest stages.
Beyond the talent on the field, Leagues Cup 2026 marks a historic milestone as tournament matches will be played in Mexico for the first time, expanding the competition’s footprint across North America and bringing the tournament closer to supporters throughout the region.
Leagues Cup 2026 features 54 MLS vs. LIGA MX Phase One matchups, with the top four clubs from each league advancing to the knockout rounds. In addition to competing for the Leagues Cup trophy, the tournament’s top three finishers will qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup, with the champion earning a direct berth into the Round of 16.

Launched in 2023, the tournament represents a landmark collaboration between the two leagues and serves as a cornerstone of their long-term partnership.
The top three finishers in Leagues Cup qualify for the Concacaf Champions Cup, with the champion earning the opportunity to represent the region in FIFA International club competitions.
