As part of the 2026 Campeones Cup showdown between Inter Miami CF and Cruz Azul, both clubs have a shared commitment to create a positive impact in their local communities. Cruz Azul conducted their Legacy Project on August 26, announcing their commitment to expanding access to soccer programming for youth in Mexico.

Cruz Azul teamed up with local organizations Casa Unnido, Fundacion JMA, and Asociacion Quetz to host a youth soccer program serving under resourced youth in the Mexico City region. More than 50 youth participants from around Mexico City attended Cruz Azul training facilities in Mexico City to learn soccer drills and life values from first team staff and organization leaders. As part of this six-month program, participants will be supplied with soccer equipment, clothing, lunches, and hydration bottles.

The event was attended by Cruz Azul first team players Andrés Montaño, Andrés Gudiño, Jorge Rodarte, Alan Montes, Gabriel Fernández, Head Coach Joel Huiqui, Sporting Director Ivan Alonso, and representatives from all participating associations.

Inter Miami CF will conduct its own Campeones Cup Legacy Project in Miami ahead of the championship match, with more details to be announced soon.
