The inaugural edition of Leagues Cup even had Houston Rockets NBA superstar James Harden dancing in the stands.
On July 24, 2019 the Houston Dynamo co-owner, who was in the middle of his NBA offseason, was spotted in a suite at BBVA Stadium to cheer on his team in a Leagues Cup clash against Club América.
The guard got more than a night out at the game, as U.S. legend DaMarcus Beasley, in his final pro season, hit another wicked goal with the Dynamo down 1-0 in the 85th minute to vault Houston through to a penalty kick shootout.
And when that Beasley goal went in? Harden got to celebrate in style from the stands.
Just one week before that match, Harden was unveiled as a co-owner of the Houston Dynamo in news that made soccer headlines around the globe.
